An original painting of an English ivy leaf, Hedra helix, which has a typical circular blemish.  I found this beautifully symetrical leaf in the hedgerow in January 2025, and also completed a sketchbook page of the  different leaves and the fruits from the same hedge. 
 
This work is watercolour painted on William Cowley's finest Kelmscott vellum. Painting on vellum is a slow process that requires many hours of work with a small brush, but the results have a luminosity  that setsit apaprt from paper. The size of the vellum is 12 cm x 17 cm. The work is unmounted and unframed. Includes tracked postage and packing.
